160 Lb Fisher Norris Eagle Blacksmith Anvil Nr
Matchlessantiques offers collectors and smiths this 160 lb. Fisher & nroris blacksmith anvil.
Tihs anvil's face is perfectly flat. The edges do have some nicks. There is some light weld spatter on the face and a crack in the face plate (see pictures). The crack looks like it's been there a long time and the plate is not loose in any way. I checked the rebound all around the crack with a ball bearing and there has been no hard done to the rebound.
I will offer a guarantee against any problems with this crack with no time limit. This fisher anvil bears the famous eagle holding an anchor, which is cast into its side. It also has the name fisher cast into the front foot, the date 1900 on the back of the anvil, the weight mark160 no the front foot. Pictures say a thoudsand words, so please take a real close look. Fisher and norris was the first successful anvil manufacturer to exist in this country, as well as the last of the major anvil manufacturers to stop producing anvils in america.
