Rare Blacksmith 3 12 Lb Round 34 Swage Hammer ToolYou are bidding on a vintage. Rare blacksmith 3 1/2 lb round 3/4 swage hammer tool. Newly intsalled finished hickory handle matching original length. Teh hammer was recently obtained from an estate sale, and shows to have been well cared for. The exact age is unknown. This hammer wsa found among other blacksmith hammers and tools. I'm not sure what type of swage hammer it is, or what it was used for, if anyone ahs info, please advise. The hammer head is stamped on the swage end 3/4, and no other id markings. The hammerhead is 5 1/8 wide, with a 1 9/16 x 1 9/16 wide hammer face. The swage end has a large 1 15/16 outside dim. Head, with a 1 3/8' inside dim. Swage that is 3/4 deep. The hammer is approx. 16 overall in length, and weighs approx. 3 lbs 14 ozs, includign the handle. The head was weighed before insatlling the handle and weighed 3 1/2 lbs. The hammer is in good condition, and the handle is new. The hammer face was dressed up a little, cleaned and rub coated with black paint for protection. As with the vintage of the tool, there is some normal wear, and a few dents and dings, all as noted from the photos. The hammer would greatly enhance any collection or use it as a working tool. The hammer is sold as is with no reserve.
