There is soem light pitting on the face. It would be a great anvil for anyone from a beginner to experienced blacksmith. This is a no reserve auction. The anvil's trademark reads peter, wright, patent and solid wrought (in the shape of a circle), and the weight marks, 0 3 16, (which is the english stoneweight system for 100 lb. ). This anvil was stamped with two triangles on the front foot. This peter wright was the next style made after 1860. Pictures say a thousand words, so taek a real close look. Peter wright & sons of dudley, england has secured the reputation as the most well known qaulity anvil maker in the world.
